|    | 4" high crown with a 5 1/2" wide brim, these tricorn hats come in sizes M(22 1/4", L(23"), XL(23 3/4"),
XXL(24 1/2"). These come as blanks not cocked up and all have cotton sweatbands. Please state your desired size in the customer comment section of the order form.
Note our customer who asked us to trim and cock his hat and add the cockades. He added the Tea Bag!

SAILOR'S STRAW HAT
|   | These straw hats come in sizes M(22 1/4"), L(23"), XL(23 3/4"). The black hat band is not included. All come with a cotton sweatband. The crown is 5 1/2" high and the brim is 2 1/2" wide.

|  | Premium wool felt blanks in black only to be made into a tricorn.
Sized 6 7/8, 7, 7 1/8, 7 ¼, 7 3/8, 7 ½, 7 5/8, 7 ¾. Sorry 8 is not available. In the customer comment section of the order form, please give us your actual head circumference. If you plan on cocking the hat into a tricorn, please tell us that so we give you the next largest size.

TRICORNS
|  | Premium wool in black only, this hat is cocked, lined with linen sweat band, has trim and a cockade.
Sized 6 7/8, 7, 7 1/8, 7 ¼, 7 3/8, 7 ½, 7 5/8, 7 ¾. Sorry 8 is not available. If head size is unknown, read above. State trim and cockade preferences.
We use the highest quality wool felt hat blanks to make our tricorns hats.
Colored Tricorns are special order and cost more. In the customer comment section please state: 1) color of cockade desired 2) trim color if any 3) actual head circumference in inches. Be sure to give us your hat size in the measurement chart if you know it.

PLAIN STRAW DOLL HAT
|   | 9.25" in diameter, this straw hat was initially designed for the American girl dolls but is portrayed here on a 36" tall doll. Straw hats can be shaped by steaming or dipping them in water and then pinning them into the shape you desire until dried or cool. To further hold the shape use clear acrylic spray.

LOW CROWN 18TH C. STRAW HATS
|   | Doll sized hats (designed to be used on American Girl dolls) are 9 1/2" diameter.
Children-adult 13" and 15" diameter straw hats. All have a crown 1" high. All can be shaped with water and dried in the desired shape or can have the edge sewn with millinery wire and then shaped. Using clear acrylic spray can also be used to "set" the shape. One size fits all. These need decoration and ribbon added to stay on the head or use a hat pin.

18TH C. LOW CROWN STRAW HATS
|   | 18" and 20" low crown straw hats were more popular at the end of the 18th century and into the 19th century. All have 1" high crowns and can be shaped with water/dried in place or by sewing millinery wire along the brim edge and moving into shape. All need to have ribbon added and/or a hat pin to keep the hat in place.

18TH CENTURY DECORATED LOW CROWN STRAW HATS
|      | Hats that are shown here are available as is. If you prefer a custom hat, please order under the plain straw hats and in the customer comment section of the order form, state the colors, etc you would like on your hat. we generally use millinery wire at the edge of the brim and cover the wire in a variety of ways. Wiring the hat allows one to change the shape of the hat. We try to use real silk ribbon and real silk flowers or cotton flowers as would have been used in the 18th century.
Note: the navy check hat below does not have real silk ties; they are red satin.

POKE BONNET 1800-1835
|    | A wide brimmed straw with room for "skirt" to be added at the back of the neck, or not. Works well with 1812 clothing. Please note that this hat must have ribbon attached to tie it to the head. One size. Double bound straw edges.

|   | An everyday basic straw hat for girls and women. This is also appropriaate for Civil War.

HIGH BRIM SPOON BONNET 1840-1860
|    | A fancy high-brim fashionable bonnet that can be decorated in any Civil War manner. Ribbons attach to the side straw extensions. Edges are now finished off in double straw binding.

YOUNG WOMAN'S CIVIL WAR STRAW HAT
|  | 2.5" High crown, 15" by 14" oval Young Woman's hat. The brim is 3.5" wide. This was quite fashionable during the Civil War especially for young women.
Usual decor is a simple ribbon around the crown and over the brim to hold it on the head. One size.

From northern Germany on the Baltic Sea, this hat was worn by the Pomeranian people of that region
in the 1700’s to early 1800’s but there are records of people continuing the tradition until just before World War I. One size.
